Final Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

" Obedience is central to becoming, being, and remaining happy."

     David A. Bednar

Reflection: I can see why obedience can HELP lead to happiness, but it is not the epicenter of happiness. This is false. There are so many other things that can lead to remaining happy, Like family, friends, and the environment around you. The small things in life are what bring us all conjoined to truly be happy. Now, don't get me wrong, when you obey, you learn to respect your elders and the ones with authority, but how can one be happy when all they do is obey? See? there are certain aspects of obedience that can help lead to but not achieve happiness. Euphoria is a bliss and it is accepted into you when you accept the things around you, the details of your life that bring you to be who you are. Obedience should be for the adolescent, so they can grow old and wise. THIS can help make someone happy.

Life Planning Report

Life Planning Report

I wrote 110 + goals into my life planning book. Some of them were small and some of them were big goals that I still need to complete. I'm going to add to my book daily for two minutes just like you had us do. Hopefully this will help me advance my life into a better path. I might erase some goals and I'll replace them wit new ones that I believe are better for myself. When the book is filled up, and if I'm satisfied with my goals then I'll stop. But, if I feel the need to continue then I'll get myself another one.

Class Reflection

Class Reflection/Final Part 1-4

1. What did you like best about this class?
         - I liked how at the end of every student success statement, I was able to give my interpretation or my opinion to you about the quote we just went over. I also enjoyed how I was given a journal to write down my goals to keep myself on track. This one really helped.

2. What did you dislike about the class?
          - I felt that some of the character emphasis's didn't apply to every student in the class. Even though they involved great examples and can really help put a student on the right path, some might not view them as everything in life. This is only my opinion and others here think differently.

3. What can you recommend to improve the class?
            - The only thing I can recommend is that we should not only learn about the functions of Windows Excel, but to study the computers themselves to become more familiar with what we are using.

4.What will you always remember about this class>
            - I think I'll remember most of the research that was given to us. Even though some of those are not in my interest for a career, they were interesting just to learn. It was a simple research process that taught me a lot about the medical field and it added to the New Media class, making this a better experience.

" Obedience is the great test of life "

 Thomas S. Monson

Reflection: To test yourself and to see how well respected and obedient in this quote seems to be the meaning. But I don't think one should test them selves on how obedient they can be to someone. There is a lack of freedom and self thinking in this. Obedience IS NOT everything, but it is important to obey the ones you KNOW you must such as parents and other respectful authorities. Other than this, I believe one should only respect when they are receiving the same mutual respect back to them. This is what I feel.

Western Medicine Doctor

Western Medicine Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities:
Holistic medicine is the art and science of healing that addresses care of the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. The practice of holistic medicine integrates conventional and complementary therapies to promote optimal health, and prevent and treat disease by addressing contributing factors. In practice, this means that each person is seen as a unique individual, rather than an example of a particular disease. Disease is understood to be the result of physical, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental imbalance. Healing, therefore, takes place naturally when these aspects of life are brought into proper balance. The role of the practitioner is as guide, mentor and role model; the patient must do the work - changing lifestyle, beliefs and old habits in order to facilitate healing. All appropriate methods may be used, from medication to meditation.

Salary:
$71,000

Education:
A liberal education in the arts and sciences
A certificate of completion in an apprenticeship before entering the medical college
An MD degree that covered 3 years of study, including two 6-month lecture sessions, 3 months devoted to dissection, and a minimum of one 6-month session of hospital attendance

"Obedience sums up our entire duty"

- Hosea Ballou

Reflection: I believe that this quote says, that with obedience, we are guided through our duties as human beings. We must follow this in order to become what we want to become in life. This is very important for all of us to pursue. Only can we as people choose to do the right things when needed and then we can accomplish.

"The more obedient we are, the freedom we have ."

                     Boyd K. Packer

Reflection: I believe that this quote is very contradicting. The more someone devotes their time to apply their obedience, the LESS freedom they will receive. As a teenager, this thought of mine can be very arrogant and ignorant as well. I know what this quote is trying to say. The more you behave and act well, the more others can trust you and let you be and have your ways. NO. The more you comply the less time you receive. This is what I believe.

Obedience

Obedience:

Definition:
Compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another's authority.

Synonyms:
Compliance, acquiescence, tractability, amenability

Ex#1
When you're training your dog, and your pet begins to respond to your commands, that can be a sign a compliance and obedience.

Ex#2
In class, never do things out of your own will, ask your teacher first and depending on their response, just remember to obey their choice or decision.

Ex#3
As your kids grow up, they need to know the difference between respect and obedience, but these two go hand in hand. When your kids obey, it can be juts because they know its correct but with no respect. But, when they respect you, they will give you their conformity and obedience no matter the circumstances towards you.

Top 5 Heart Health tips

Top 5 Heart Health Tip
  • Food, healthy diet
  • Avoid Smoking
  • Keep an active life style
  • Maintaining a healthy body weight
  • Reduce your stress

I am currently only completing 4/5 things on this list for a healthy heart and a healthy life. So, maybe I should begin by going over what it is that I need to do to keep myself from falling into an unhealthy life style. I have a gym membership so going to the gym and keeping myself healthy is something i don't really have to stress over. My body weight is fine, even though I am sort of skinny, I go to the doctor as often as I can to make sure I'm fine. My diet is also very well, and i do not smoke. But one thing I do need to improve is my stress. Sometimes I find myself in certain positions where I start to stress out. This is something I need to work on, But this is also something very small, because I am stressed out very little.

                                                Hippocrates

Reflection: I believe that this statement is telling us to focus more on our well being that material things. Some people focus on things that don't even matter, items that are irrelevant to ones health and person. People to pay more attention on life than things that wont follow them into the future. So in this, we should all put effort into living life than worrying about how much battery percent your phone has, or when are you going to charge it. Worry about how late you're going to be to work instead of small things that don't matter. Pay attention to  your health and well being before something bad happens to you or your mentality. Take care of your mind and your physical self, if not you will regret it as you grow everyday.

Whenever you associate yourself with people, you sometimes become like them in a few ways. You begin to act like the ones around you and you all do the same things together. When you are around the right people you do the right things. But when you socialize yourself with wrong people, just as the right, you start to do wrong things. Sometimes inappropriate things. Never enter the world of famine and disgust because you will become what you seem to be around. In someways, its perfectly fine to alienate yourself from the ones you believe are bringing to you do the wrong things in life. you need self control and if you cannot come to this, then maybe you should move away from the wrong crowd. "You can't hire someone else to do your push-ups for you"

                                  Jim Rohn

Reflection: You need to pursue things on your own. You can never have anyone do your work for you, or eat your food for you and expect to get full. You won't feel the satisfaction you would if you did things on your own. Why have others intervene your life and run the duties that you have to? Maybe because some don't know how to except their responsibilities and they become lost in the moment. Confused in the cast expansion of their issues. But these issues can only proceed to get bigger unless you face them yourself. Someone cannot take a driver's test for you and then you expect to receive the licence. Things don't work in that manner. Take your duties and finish them yourself. But make sure that you also start them yourself too. Never blame others and throw them into your needs when YOU'RE the one who need to compete against yourself and complete them. Take on the challenge and do what you must. Don't ever back down from what you must do. If you do so, then you will stay in the same you began in and unless you started off on your own, you will remain on the ground, never to get up or run forward.

Temptationns

In the video I learned that temptation can take over easily so it is important to have will power over the things you come across. If not, the you will encounter will take possession over you and you will lose your self control. Never give in to peer pressure to the ones around you because they are only there to take advantage. They will not stand next to you in your time of need. So choose correctly who you want to be around with. And always remember to never allow yourself to fall into temptation because it can consume you. More than you believe.

Reflection: I personally believe that this mean that whatever you see yourself as is what you will become. Push yourself, and give yourself goals because if you don't and see yourself as a failure then this is what you will become into. Test your skills. Put your mind into a challenge and compete with your thoughts and knowledge in order to see yourself as a stronger competitor. This will allow you to evolve and turn into someone you would WANT to see yourself as. Not as a criminal. Or someone who vandalizes daily. Nor as the person who gets waded back because reality and the world hit them too hard. See yourself as more. Someone who will stand out and relinquish all selfish and wrong acts to achieve the greater things in life. This is what most people should see them selves as. But the one who views him/herself in the wrong way will become the wrong things. Stand up, and stand out. Be creative because all these things are good traits and are all apart of a good personality, and personality is everything. Having a good one will allow you to become what you want to see.

Reflection:

I believe that this quote states that by going with whats right instead of wrong is always the better choice. When you do this it allows you to become a better person in general. You feel good about yourself and the thing you can do for others. Not only will you feel good, but knowing the best thing between right and wrong is always the better choice. Your conscience can be at ease, and you, yourself, can be calm in knowing that whatever wrong that you were going to do, you picked to proper thing to do instead. These are the sweeter things in life that can make you a better person. When people go against what they KNOW is right, then that's when they need help. You can help him or her, but eventually they will learn, as you did that that doing the right thing is always the best decision that you can make.

Reflection:
I would consider this job maybe as a second option to what I already want to do. These types of jobs do seem interesting to me but id much rather be a forensic scientist. But if i had a chance to do this then i think i take the opportunity.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement:

Cowardice asks the question  "Is is safe?"
Expediency asks the question, "Is it politic?"
Vanity asks the question " Is it popular?"

But, conscience asks the question, "Is it right?" And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Reflection: To me, I believe that this quote is telling me to choose between wrong or right and to listen to my conscience when needed to. With this, I understand that I must think first before I act, conjure my thoughts before I speak, and listen before I assume. To look within myself to find that not the popular, not the political, not the safe, but what I believe, what I presumed in my head with my thoughts is what I should think is right. Never loose faith in what are you, who you are, or what you will become. The future is yours, and let your conscience and the good will of your very being run through you like water down a river and into your head before you act, speak, think, or stand still to do nothing. Your conscience is what will move you, run oxygen through your lungs and proceed to ignite the momentum that your soul needs to think and function. So that you can continue to think and choose what is right and what is wrong. With out this, some are amounted to almost ( if not ) nothing, because they didn't think. They didn't take the time to look inside themselves. To use what every human being is given. To pursue. To move. Because they didn't take their use of time to approach their conscience to believe what right.

Reflection: I believe that this has a lot of opportunities fro young students in the medical field. With this, it can allow someone a great chance to pursue a career for their life in this. I don't believe I'd like to work as one because simply it is not of my interest.
